Note
|
Source: Ruth Snyder letter 25 Apr 1988. Sue Fienning letter 3/1996 suggests that Herman was not given a middle name (it was M.) and got to pick one when he was a young adult. He changed his last name from Schneider to Snyder sometime after 1915 because of the anti-German sentiment caused by the First World War. He is the only member of his family to do so. Found in 1900 US Census with mother Catherine Schneider in Dwight Village, Livingston, Illinois. One of several children. |
