French Steak

Ingredients

2 pounds Round steak
Flour
Salt
Pepper
2 tablespoons Butter
2 large Onions, thinly sliced
1 Garlic clove, minced
1 cup White wine
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 cup Beef broth
1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Soy sauce
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup Sour cream, Yogurt or Imo


 

Instructions
Cut steak into serving pieces, and dredge with flour seasoned with
salt and pepper. Brown on both sides in butter and oil in a heavy
pan. Remove steak from pan, add onions and saute until golden. Stir
in garlic, wine, broth, Worchestershire sauce, soy sauce and pepper;
stir up brown bits from bottom of the pan.

Return steak to pan, cover and simmer slowly for 1-1/2 hours or until
meat is very tender. Remove to a platter and keep warm. Stir cheese
into onions and pan juices until melted, then add sour cream and heat
but do not boil. Pour sauce over meat and serve.
