Citrus Waffles

Ingredients

3/4 Cup Flour, All-purpose
3/4 Cup Flour, Whole-grain Wheat
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
1/4 Cup Wheat Germ, Toasted
1 1/4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1 1/3 Cups Buttermilk
1/3 Cup Water
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
1 Teaspoon Orange Rind grated
1 Each Egg beaten slightly


 

Instructions
Lightly spoon flours into dry measuring cups, and level with a knife. Combine the flours and the next six dry ingredients (through nutmeg) in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk.

Combine the buttermilk, 1/3 cup water, canola oil, orange ring and egg in a small bowl. Add the milk mixture to the flour, stirring just until moist. Coat a waffle iron with cooking spray. Cook for 5 minutes or until steaming stops.
